FYE Class
The topic of my FYE (first year experience) class is Bridge, the card game not a structure built over areas of water. In my FYE class we learn how to play bridge. It is actually a very interesting class. I never played Bridge or even heard of the game before I came to college. The reason I took the class is because someone who had taken the class had recommended I take it because the FYE course is required for freshman. The other options were also did not sound as fun. So I decided to take the advice. So I was very excited to learn a new game. When we got there the first day, we started to play games we knew. Then I realized, I didn’t really know any card games. So one of my classmates explained how to play spades, so we began with that. The reason we began with spades is because bridge is kind of like spades. The difference is there is a lot of math in bridge. We are still learning, but we are learning by playing, and our final is a tournament. I’m excited to see how much I learned.
