Freestyle

College is a lot different than you think it is. In high school I was one of those people who heard all the teachers say, “college will be so much different than high school, they don’t do as much as we do,” and never believed them. News flash, they were right.I come to college prepared; well what I thought was prepared. I had pens, pencils, and paper. I was ready for the first day, again I thought I was. The first day comes, and I’m learning my way around. Luckily, I had someone who has been going to Georgia Southern for 3 years to show me around. I was late for my classes on the first day. I didn’t know it would be so much walking involved. I apologized to my teachers for being tardy, and they said the first week they are lenient, but after that you should be on time or early. Classes are much different because the teachers expect more of you. This is just a warning for any incoming freshman to college. Be aware of what’s coming.

My Hometown

I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia, which is my hometown. Right now I’m living in Statesboro, Georgia to attend Georgia Southern University. My house in Atlanta has many things my room doesn’t have here. In Atlanta I have a queen size bed, my own bedroom that’s blue and green, 2 dogs, one Chihuahua mix, and a Shih Tzu, that I love, and my mom in the room across from mine. Our house is made out of grayish-blue bricks. There are 6 rooms and 1 bathroom in our house. We have two bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, and a den. My dogs sleep in my room, one on my bed, the other on my floor next to my bed. My house is a small one level house; it’s just big enough for my mom and me. About 10 miles down the road, is the house my grandfather lives in, and he is the main part of my family. I like it in Decatur because it’s a nice town and the weather never gets as hot as it does in Statesboro. There are many things to do in Decatur and most of the time nice enough to stay outdoors. It does rain occasionally, but not too often in the summer. My house also has a lot of trees around it to shade it, and I like trying to climb the trees. Also, there is a hammock in the back that I like to lay on and read a magazine. I also have a small pond in the back full of fish, frogs, and a turtle. I like our backyard; it’s fenced in and has a nice size. Our front yard is a huge hill, with a lot of ivy; some of it is poison ivy. There is a park within walking distance of my house. My dogs and I usually go for a walk around the park. I like my house in Atlanta; it has the things I think are important about a house. It’s a nice size, has trees, a decent size yard, nice weather most of the time, my family, and my pets.
